On March 21st when I received an email from the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto that I had won their Wildlife Photo of the Year contest.  This photo was taken near Katmai, Alaska in Moraine Creek, where I was on a photography workshop led by Art Wolfe, and Gavriel Jecan.  Each morning, Jerry Jacques (pilot and owner of Alaska Wilderness Adventure Lodge) or another pilot would fly us in a small float plane to scout for Alaskan Brown Bears fishing in the nearby creeks.  Once they figured out the best location, they would land in a lake and we would hike to the creek shore, and spend the day watching the bears fish, fight for fish, and eat fish.  This was one of many dramatic fights we observed.
I shoot Sony, this one with A7III and 100-400mm lens.  Cropped of course.
