The G Adventures's Spirit of Shackleton cruise I took in 2020 was the best (so far) trip of my life. We saw astounding wildlife, met great people, and experts on board included biologists, historians, ornithologist, and a photographer, Paul Glendell, from the UK. There was a photo contest, and my picture of the Tern Turning won!
This photo was taken in South Georgia as we walked to Shackleton Falls. I took a burst series, and was so surprised when I was reviewing my photos later, to discover this strange behaviour. Apparently, when fishing, the tern picks up too much water and needs to expell it, and I just happened to catch it with my camera. Sometimes the camera can see what the human eye cannot!
